QUARRY HAVEN

The topography of this site dictated the need for an inventive approach to the problem of achieving a substantial house on a relatively tight and unyielding site.

 

The layout is inverted with bedrooms on the ground floor and living accommodation on the first-floor level adjacent to the road. The main living area is afforded both privacy and stunning views over the water garden to the opposing granite rock face, with waterfall feature.

 

Poole Phillips Associates took the project through design and planning phases, and it was then completed as a self-build project by the client.
