OLD SCHOOL HOUSE

The property underwent substantial renovation in the late 1990’s and, whilst maintaining the appearance of a box frame on the exterior a large rendered extension was built on to the back of the property. In addition to this, all of the windows were replaced with uncharacteristic double glazed units and substantial interior alterations were made.

A survey was carried out by Poole Phillips Associates and details were drawn for replacements to these dilapidated, circa 1990’s casement windows, whilst retaining the traditional style. The aesthetic qualities in section were enhanced by the use of thinner, more appropriate window casements.

The new windows continue to be double glazed, but using thin panes that can sit within frames, visually similar to that of the existing. The works preserve and enhance the building as a family home for the foreseeable future.
